I'm Allen Boyd, and I'm proud to be running for re-election to Congress to represent North Florida.

On this site you'll have an opportunity to learn more about me. The values I stand up for in Congress I learned from my mother and father, and they learned them from theirs.  For more than thirty years, Cissy and I have tried to pass on the principles of honesty, hard work, and "no excuses" to our three children.

I believe in the strength of this community, so I am hopeful about the future.  We've made some progress since I was elected to Congress in 1996, like modern agricultural policy, a shared commitment to improve health care, and efforts to keep America's promises to our veterans.  We have to keep working on these things together.

There is still much to be done.  The new prescription drug program is a step in the right direction, but it must be improved to guarantee seniors affordable access to the medicine they need.  We must continue to work to improve the economy and create jobs.

We've proven in the past that by working in a bi-partisan way, we can balance the federal budget and eliminate deficit spending.  Every family in North Florida has to balance their checkbooks, and the federal government should have to do that too.

In this time of conflict overseas, we must make sure our soldiers on the front lines have the best tools available to wage the war on terrorism.  We must continue to do everything we can to garner the best intelligence and protect our homeland from attack.  And all of these efforts would be for nothing if we didn't keep fighting to expand education opportunities for America's greatest asset - our kids.

I went to Congress for the same reasons I went to Vietnam - to fight for what we know is right.  I believe the "can-do spirit" of North Florida should live and breathe in the halls of the United States Capitol - that if we put politics aside, roll up our sleeves and work together, there's nothing we can't do.
