ALLEN BOYD:  A WIN FOR STUDENTS

Paying for College
In Congress, Allen has fought to increase funding for Pell Grants and a variety of student loan programs that help remove the financial burden that comes with high tuition.  He also voted to increase the number of students eligible for Pell Grants, because everyone deserves a chance to go to college, regardless of their socio-economic standing.  And, because Allen knows the value of good teachers for the next generation, he fought to expand student loan forgiveness for borrowers who are math, science, special education, or reading teachers in low-income school districts.

Funding Colleges
From community colleges to universities, Allen's worked tirelessly to make sure the schools in North Florida have the money they need to implement cutting edge programs and provide the best resources to their students.  Since being elected to Congress, Allen has secured more than $46 million for institutes of higher education throughout Florida's 2nd District.  Research and campus improvements have proven a priority, and engineering, agriculture, math, science, and reading programs have been beneficiaries of federal funding.

Allen Boyd has spent his entire legislative career fighting for students.  College must be affordable, and every young person in America deserves the opportunity to pursue higher education.  In addition to working for better college financing options and making sure colleges have the resources to provide the best to their students, Allen's also tackled campus crime by making grants available to schools to combat violence; voted that grants be available to schools for historic research and preservation of the Underground Railroad; passed a bill that established the Center for Historically Black Heritage at Florida A & M University; and fought to extend the grace period of loan repayments of reservists who are called to active duty.

Congressman Allen Boyd is a win for students.
Let's help him win in November.
